Privacy policy
This policy explains what Your Business Name ("we") collects when you use Janma Patrika, why, and the choices you have. Birth details are personal data, and we treat them that way.
What we collect
- Birth details you enter: name, date, time and place of birth, optional gender, and your chosen chart and report settings.
- Contact details: your e-mail address when you create an account, receive a report or write to us, and the content of messages you send.
- Order details: what you bought, the amount and the payment status. Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider and never reach our servers.
- Technical data: a session cookie, and a keyed hash of your IP address used only to limit abuse. We do not store your raw IP address in rate-limit or contact records.
Why we use it
- To calculate your chart and generate, store and deliver your report.
- To take payment, prevent fraud and meet accounting duties.
- To reply to your messages and provide support.
- To keep the site secure and working.
We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit your birth details, and where necessary to perform the service you asked for. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your data.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- We do not publish charts or reports, and search engines are told not to index them.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Charts created without an account are deleted automatically after 30 days. Data in an account is kept until you delete the report or the account. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider, our payment provider and our e-mail delivery provider, each under contract and only for the purpose described. We disclose data to authorities when the law requires it.
Security
Access to reports is limited to their owner through unguessable identifiers and signed, authorised downloads. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, forms are protected against forged requests, and administrative access is restricted by role. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us at once if you suspect a problem.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or erase it, and you can complain about how we handle it. Write to support@example.com and we will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Children
The service is intended for adults. If you want a chart for a child, a parent or legal guardian must enter the details and give consent on the child's behalf.
Cookies
We set one strictly necessary session cookie that keeps forms secure and, if you sign in, keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you directly.
